Phuket, Thailand (Part 1 of 4)

Initially I thought that there wasn't much to be done at Phuket, except massage, shopping and the beach. So I agreed to have a 3D2N Phuket trip from 14 to 16 Sep 2012. I was wrong once I started to check out what I could do at Phuket. I began to realise that there were many activities to participate in and places to visit.

After searching and reading the review of some hotels, we decided to book our 3D2N stay with Fundee Boutique Hotel. The reason being that we wanted to stay somewhere off the noise from the night happenings, yet near to the shopping areas and the stretch of happenings. At the same time it should not be off the main road, in an isolated place for 2 travelling ladies. This hotel was indeed a good choice in terms of location and pricing. Most of the hotels does not provide free shuttle to airport. The hotel can arrange an airport transfer at a surcharge of THB1000.

We were not in for a shock. The hotel has the same feel and look as those photos on the website. Sometimes you do not get what you expect from the photos on the website. You will notice that many hotels will have this seating area above. At first I was wondering why people were willing to seat and eat there, as it faced the roads and getting all the dust and dirt. We got to try it while having a drink. It's very cooling with the breeze blowing, compared to seating inside the hotel.

The room was clean, neat and spacious, with a little balcony. One should get a room facing the road, so that you can enjoy using the balcony with a good view, instead of facing the opposite rooms. The only negative experience with this hotel was that it did not provide a complete set of toiletries. It did not affect us much, as we brought our own. It only provide shower caps,  small bottles of shampoo/bathing gel and hand soap which I guessed were replenished if we did use.
