Taipa Island, Macau, SAR Of China (Part 1 of 2)

Map of Venture @ Taipa Island

We are glad to change our itinery to visit Taipa on Sunday. The museums offer free admission on Sunday and Taipa Flea Market takes place on Sunday. Taipa Island is famous for its traditional cookies, and in the old village Rua do Cunha (官也街) there are shops that have been baking and selling the same fragrant sweet morsels for generations. It is said that it is cheaper to buy the cookies from the same store (such as Koi Kei Bakery and Choi Heong Yuen Bakery) in Taipa Island then back in Macau Peninsula. The above shaded area is all you need to cover around Rua do Cunha before you proceed to City of Dreams and The Venetian. It is just a small area to be covered, not as big as it seems.

We reach Taipa Island early in the morning and many shops have yet to be opened. It is fine since we can have breakfast first. The shops start to open after we have a nice breakfast. The journey at Taipa Island, start from Rua do Cunha. It is just a short narrow lane, yet fill with much to see. In this short narrow lane, we already spot many recommended stores.

Pastelaria Fong Kei (晃記饼家) A traditional domestic baking shop for chinese biscuits, perfect gift for home town friends. It is famous for their almond with pork filling cookies. It really tastes nice.

We have finally lay our hands on the famous pork chop bun from Tai Lei Loi Kei (大利來記咖啡室) next to Museum of Taipa and Coloane History . The waiting to visit Taipa Island only on the third day of the trip is worth it. It is famous for its tender and juicy pork chop bun. You must also try the curry fishball.
